Volunteer Spotlight: Butch Ball

What brought you to Virginia Voice?
I came to Virginia Voice to volunteer to read because the Virginia Voice had been very helpful to my Aunt.

How long have you been volunteering with Virginia Voice?
I have been reading about one and a half years.

What do you read for Virginia Voice?
I read Music News that I think our listeners will identify with and enjoy.

How do you describe your work with Virginia Voice to your friends and family?
I describe my relationship with Virginia Voice as trying to bring Joy to the listeners.

Do you have a favorite memory or story from your time volunteering with Virginia Voice?
Most memorable moments are when I deliver radios and get to chat with the listeners.

Do you volunteer anywhere else in the community? Where, and in what capacity?
The VA Voice is my only volunteer work at this time. Previous work was the Richmond Jazz Society for about 13 years and the Downtown YMCA.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not volunteering?
I enjoy traveling, sailing on the Chesapeake Bay, and working on our farm.
